Need advice!

Bought this card on ebay for $80:



It arrived today, opened the bubble mailer and it was shipped inside a top loader NO SOFT SLEEVE. Fine. I don't think it damaged the corners anymore than they already were. It was listed as NM.

But I pull it out of the top loader, examine it under light and notice it is creased on both sides quite noticeably:



Contact the seller, he seems decent about it, offers me a refund of $40 to keep it, or full refund to send it back, his cost.

What I need advice on is, should I keep it for $40 or should I send it back.... Would I be able to get $40 for it if I decide to sell it in the future? Would YOU buy this for $40??

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

Ive sold quite a few of these cards and they all seemed to have creases in the same area. Not sure if it was a factory defect or not. I'd keep it and get the $40 back.

Ya I'm fairly confident those creases are factory defects, I've pulled lots of jersey cards that have very similar issues. It's a sweet card and if it's something you bought with the intention of keeping, I'd take the $40 refund and run!!

I'd keep it and take the partial refund. Ultimately the value in a card like that comes from the memorabilia and autographs of the two HOF'ers. Those still appear intact and in great shape.

A creased card will only get a psa 5 TOPS and thats just a hairline crease.Your probably looking at a 4 grade in my opinion.Id take the 80 bucks back and get something you REALLY want.Add his name to the "DO NOT BUY from list.BTW wouldve been a great card in nm/mint condition.Not to say he was crooked...but it clearly wasnt a nm card.

LOL. Bourque was misspelled tho if that would have made a difference. I got my refund so got it for $40. Overall I am satisfied for getting 2 Autos and 2 GUd of these two greats for this low a price.

And it will stay in the PC so not really worried about market value. I wouldn't be able to get Autos and GUd of both these guys for $40 any other way. Saved some $ to use on other PC items.
