50, 40, and a Triple Double!!!
Just got back from the game. Thunder vs. Nuggets!
The Thunder were down two starters tonight, and went back and forth with the Nuggets. With 20 seconds left in regulation, the Thunder were down 5, and found a way to push it to overtime, and then get the Win!
Kevin Durant with 51 points, Russell Westbrook with 40 points, and Serge Ibaka messed around and got a Triple Double!!! Great game!!!
Just thought I'd share. In a time where every is always talking about New York, and L.A. and CP3 this, and Kobe/Lebron that...and "Lin mania".....that there is something really special happening in Oklahoma City!!!

There's no denying that they are by far the 2nd best team in basketball.

Was a great game, proud of my Nuggets for taking them into overtime. I mean the Thunder were on fire and the shorthanded Nuggets still almost beat them. When Durant gets going the only person who can stop him is Russell Westbrook.

That was just a heckuva game. Shows why the Thunder have to be the favorite coming out of the West...two guys can go for huge amounts and then they have Ibaka controlling the inside. Yikes.
If they are clearly the second best team, who's first? I'm not sure there's anyone I'd for sure put ahead of them on any given night.

I watched the last 8 minutes of regulation and ot and thought Denver was going to hold them off but Durant and Westbrook were sensational in the final minutes. I loved how Durant finished with the layup in ot and not passing to shoothappy Westbrook. Serge "Shot"blaka was crazy swatting all those shots late in the game. I felt sorry for Afflalo and Lawson every time they drove to the basket fearing they would get their shot blocked. OKC is going to be a tough team to deal with come the playoffs.

Westbrook is shooting close to 50% field goal percentage on the season. Over the last 15 games, his field goal % is atually better than Durant's. In that Denver game, Westbrook closed out the 4th quarter/overtime shooting 7 for 9. Durant finished up the same span shooting 8 for 12. It has been that way ALL SEASON!
Russ seems to get alot of heat, because of a span of 3-5 games in last years playoffs, where he hit a cold spell. He kept shooting the ball, because he is confident in what he does. TNT, ESPN, and whoever, fabricated a big story about how there was a beef between Russ and KD, and that Russ, was shooting way too much. Its bologna! Coming from someone who has gone to every home game since the inception of this team, and also watches every away game on television, it is Russell Westbrook that makes this team go round. Durant is the premier scorer....but when it comes to transition baskets, and getting the offense going, it is Westbrook.
It is somewhat diconcerning, to continually hear all of the people who make that comment about Westbrook "shooting too much," or that westbrook is the only one who can slow KD down. They are just regurgitating old info. There are so many nights where KD is a little off, and its Westbrook that gets him going. Kd gets all the props...and rightfully so....but If I had to pick an MVP of this team, Westbrook gets the nod. And that is the opinion of ALOT of the fans here in OKC as well. The fans who get to see all of the games...not just a few here that are nationally televised.Last edited by Filthy; 02-21-2012 at 01:39 PM.
