CBA All Star Weekend, Yup CHINESE BASKETBALL!

I went to the CBA All Star Weekend the last 2 days and it was actually really fun. It was held in Guangzhou, China at the Guangzhou International Sports Arena where the 2010 NBA China Games were held.

Saturday (Rookie Game):
I didn't expect any of the players i wanted so only brought the photos I just printed and the ones for my friend. So there I am getting some Chinese player's autographs suddenly I see a guy in the tunnel with a suit and a pink tie.

Walks a little more out and I said HOLY CRAP ITS STEPHON MARBURY!! I was scrambling for stuff for him to autograph cause i left the photos at my seat so got him to sign a note card first. Went to get my stuff right away.

Then I noticed some of the All Stars including former NBA player Lester Hudson and point guard Aaron Brooks. Me and my friend sprinted over to the other side of the arena and we got within 5 meters of him where he was sitting on a bench. I screamed for Aaron multiple times and when he finally looked back I showed him this nice 8x10 and a marker, same with my friend. He turned around and I thought he ignored us then he stood up jumped over some chairs and signed for me and my friend. Not the Chinese people with ticket stubs and dunk contest score cards given away.

Then I noticed Lester Hudson and called him over, got him to sign a 4x6. He was real nice about it.

10 Minutes later I tried screaming at Stephon again and pointed at the photos I originally intended for him to sign he pointed over to the tunnel and said after the game.

After the game we got some random autos of Chinese guys and true to his word. Stephon came over through a crazy out of control crowd and signed both my 8x10's. He is a really nice guy

Sunday (All Star Game):
My seats were in the center so I just sat near the tunnel for autos. I was sitting on the south side, so i couldnt get any more marbury sadly. I had 2 more photos for him but im sure ill get another chance in China. On the South was Aaron Brooks and former NBA player, Wang Zhi Zhi (the first chinese nba player) During all star introductions i got random players and American Will McDonald. Also got brooks on another 8x10. EVERYONE was shoving and the guards pushed me back. Aaron looked around and quickly came over to sign my photo.

Then there was some photographer talking to his friends and then he left, The friends of the photographer left for somewhere and the photographer came back asked wheres the 2 boys. We said they left and he said do u guys have anything for Wang Zhi Zhi. We took out two photos and he got them signed for us :). I got a nice Mavs photo signed by a former Mav. When it was his introduction he came over and saw my custom cards but signed the folder.

Great game but at the end people started jumping on to the court. And I regret not doing it because people who jumped down and went to the halls of the locker rooms met marbury and took photos with him. I went like 15 minutes later, and I run into Wang Zhi Zhi again. He signed my custom cards and was really nice about it.

Overall it was a great experience because most guys signed, a lot easier than the NBA but I think the Chinese fans are more out of control than North American ones.

I'm gonna try to go more CBA Games
