Apparently there was a deal on the table for the Kings to send Bernier, Brown, and a Pick to the Leafs for Grabovski, Schenn, Gustovson, and a pick.

Leafs backed out at the last minute.

Wow! I wouldn't mind the Leafs trading those players for Brown and Bernier, but I wonder what the rest of the details were.

It doesn't make any sense, there HAS to be more to that.

I would have done that deal as well. I like Bernier and Brown and they can afford to give up those players to do the deal. Oh well.

Well local radio likes the trade, they're reporting Managment here was unhappy that Kassian wasn't bringing a more physical element to the table.

Positionally it makes some sense, but it's not like Buffalo is deep at RW either, after Pominville and Stafford it drops to McCormick and Kaleta. Expectations were that Kassian would be heir-apparent on the right side for a more physically capable and physically willing winger with scoring talent.

ugh. Darcy Regier's presser is making me - and probably the other Sabres fans listening - want to kill him again.

They didn't shop Boyes because of the injury to McCormick and the decision to trade Gaustad? That's the kind of bad personnel decisions we've come to know and hate from Regier.
