Says who? Nash is a valuable commodity, he probably has more hidden value than most players, simply because he has spent his whole career playing with Bums. Nobody knows what he can accomplish on a decent team.
Columbus is in the driver's seat simply because he has more time left. They don't have to take on a bad contract if they don't want to. They could go all young players and prospects if they really wanted. They start over every year, so why should next year be any different?
LA is famous for doing stupid deals for overpaid regulars, no reason for any other team to act the same way.

Oh, sorry I did not know you were joking, I figured since you did not know his contract status, that Detroit was not one of them teams he would agree to be traded or the fact that your proposed trade was
ridiculous. I just figured you had no idea what you were talking about. But please, "Try not to fall too far into the Sarchasm"

Since most teams are so close to the cap, almost any team that acquires nash would have to send a significant salary back in return. It doesn't need to be someone with term after this season. The Kings could make the best offer with picks/prospects but they would need to move salary to fit nash's cap hit. They could submit their offer including penner just to balance the salary. Columbus would then let penner walk in the offseason and they get to keep whatever else is included in the deal. The same scenario could happen with the Rangers and Wolski for example.

I just hate Brad Stuart. Holland overpaid him by over a million dollars per year, only to watch him be out of position on both of Max Talbot's goals in Game 7 when they lost to the Pens. That is unforgivable.
Brad Stuart is dead to me.
Now regarding Nash, Columbus should make everybody have to Pony-Up if they want him, but knowing their behavior they will probably get burned on the deal, they have not exactly been the model expansion franchise when it comes to common sense.

I have a feeling the Canucks are going to stand pat. I would like to see Weiss traded for a bag of pucks though.

Weise?
To bad the Canucks didn't have the real Weiss, the NHL's most underrated one from Florida.

I agree. Stuart can be a good shot blocker, but after that game 7 I curse him every time I see him on the ice. But if we're talking overpaid defensemen, Ericsson may be one of the worst. 4+ million a year for constant turnovers?
Columbus may get burnt, but it won't be by us. They'd probably want a huge return from a division rival.

Rick Nash will be wearing the blue and white if the TML before the trade deadline

we will give them a goalie prospect, a D man or two, a forward that will jump right into their lineup AND eat that ugly contract!

Yeah, however it's spelled. He and Byron Bitz are basically the same kind of player, but Bitz is better at it.
