Issue with trades and sales
Basically I'm working on finishing up 10-11 Ultimate Premium Patches. Since these cards are all /25 except for the 2 SSPs they're not super easy to come by. Twice in the last month or so I've had tentative deals set up, as in me saying I really need this card if you don't want anything for trade I'll outright buy it.
Once 1 was traded without any notice whatsoever, I made it clear I was willing to pay what I needed to to get this card.
I'm well aware that the owners of these cards in fact own them and can do what they want but as far as "ethics" in card trading/selling what's the deal. Is it ok for them to do that? Or should I be putting up a stink?
I'd also like to add I've only been back in the hobby for a little over a year. As far as I'm concerned saying "ok I'll sell it to you for $10 dlvd" and tomorrow saying "It's $14 dlvd" with no explanation is kinda . To me it's on par with the guy on ebay that sold a Seguin Patch Auto from The Cup to me for $80 than once I paid he refunded me the $ and said it was dmgd then resold it a month later for $180.
Maybe I'm uptight or just think someones "word" should be kept, just wondering what other traders sellers think. I've completed a few trades before and have had no problems and have had great communication with those traders/sellers but when you think you have a few missing pieces from your PC and the guy says oh sorry I traded it, it's pretty discouraging not to mention the pissed off factor. Rant over, thanks for your time. I welcome comments, opinions, flaming, criticism or whatever you have to say.Last edited by RGM81; 02-27-2012 at 08:20 PM. Reason: Mind the language, please.

When it comes to transactions, unless there's a deal formally established in the Trade Manager that has been confirmed by both parties, there's nothing formally agreed upon. While it would be a common courtesy thing to do for the people you have been in touch with to give you an update, there's no real obligation to do so. I know that if I'm in talks with somebody I generally will exhaust all avenues with that person for a card trade/sale before going on to the next person. If no deal can be made I move on, but if person X contacts me first I either get to a deal or say "sorry, can't make it happen" before I go with Person Y.
Sadly, for a few people in the hobby honesty and integrity can sometimes take a backseat to the almighty dollar. Sad but true.
