    Trader etiquette?

Lately I have been going around trying to help people complete sets and stuff. Trying to move alot of cards.
Well I've PM'd people who need stuff I have. Had a couple get back to me, but then there are the ones who I have seen have been on since I sent the message(yes you'll all say, maybe they weren't on long, but still how long does it take to answer a simple message.

I've also had a guy interested in an item, told him price was negotiable, he told me last he was looking up to see what that particular autograph goes for. Haven't heard from him since, yet I've seen him on.

What trader behavior really bothers you? Is it that hard to answer a message. I take my time to help these people, they get back to me once or twice, some not at all, then it's like I have to hunt them down. I'm just trying to make some deals. Does it have to be that difficult?

It's not hard to answer a simple PM. Some people have a VERY hard time doing it though. I think every PM should be answered within 24-48 hours.

I also hate it when members try to do the run-around on you and avoid giving you a simple answer. I once had a member say he was going out of town, then he had to go visit his grandmother, then this, then that....I just gave up on it. I was literally worn out from trying to get a simple yes or no answer.

Exactly if your active, then you should be answering. I've gotten, I thought I answered it. I don't know how many PMs people others get a day, but maybe some do think they replied, others I'd wonder.
I like to work deals and get them going and finished, none of this lingering stuff.
I guess it's just something I'll have to live with. I don't want to be that guy who goes having to keep PM'ing them, but maybe thats just what has to be done.

Ya, if the member has something you really want or need, you will have to suffer through it. If you can find what that member has somewhere else with a couple of clicks, then I wouldn't worry about it. I've had it happen a few times...I just say thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass. No more worrying after that.

What REALLY annoys me is when it says they're online and you send a message...wait a few hours, no reply...wait another few hours, no reply...send another PM, no reply. I just don't worry about the negotiations after that if they show no interest in proceeding.

What happens to me alot is people will send me a message and then get off, then I'm stuck waiting for there reply, when I get right back to them.
I have several PMs I'm waiting for a reply to, just got on today, only 1 and that was a guy who was being consistent in getting back to me so it doesn't count.

Seems to be rampant with low feebdack and new members in my accounts.Just remeber who they are, there's a good chance they will contact you wanting a response.

I love it when your working a deal for a card and the trader (without saying) has it on Ebay at the same time.Negotiating back and fourth only to be told "Sorry man I will have to pass.Just Recieved an $ offer on eBay. I will have to pass on my offer of $ too".True there was not a trade posted but really it's not like a BIN was used.Card has yet to be sold or thread updated, lol.
If your trying to sell or trade here, you should have it known the same card is on Ebay.Otherwise don't bother.

I remember when I was going back and forth with a trader on here. I had some cards that he wanted and he had some items that I wanted. I had to dig through all of my cards for a couple of hours but I was able to find what he needed. Any way he gave me a list and told me to make an offer. I made him an offer that he didn't like. He said no thanks. I said no problem just make me a counter offer so we can do this. He said no and did not want to trade. I was steamed that this joker had me dig through thousands of cards only to flake on me. I immediately placed him on the ignore list. What do ya'll think of that one?

I used to go thru that all the time. Pull cards and they flake out. I have my stuff sorted by teams because it was handy for me. I use cards for autographs so was somewhat easier to just search a guys team then a set.
I do now have most of my stuff in the inventory so it's somewhat easier to find cards. NO pulling cards til a deal is posted. I used to hate it. I'd have stacks of cards all over that needed to be put away.

That's what I do. I always get a "I'll have to pass" or "No thanks" response instead of a counter-offer. I always tell them they can counter if they feel the price or trade deal is not to their liking, but about 40% I'd say would either not respond or just say "no" again. I just add them to my 50/50 list. If they are interested in another card and say a plain "no" again, then I add them to my ignore list.
