    Question?

Why are boxes of cards so expensive now? You spend $100-150 on boxes of cards, and most of the time, you really get nothing in return that's of value.I really don't get it,its more of a business now than a hobby, why can't they have more hits or even inserts for the type of money your spending. Like contenders, that's a nice box,you get an insert per pack, average of 5 autos per box, thats what I would spend my money on. I buy singles now,no more boxes. If contenders would add a rookie patch auto like they have in basketball, plus the 5 autos, and inserts, thats a box I'd buy. I'd never spend 100+ on a box/pack that has 5-8 cards, with 3 hits that would sell low.

legalized gambling dude....that's pretty much all it is. If you like acutally collecting cards, youre an idiot to buy boxes nowadays. I will fall for a box now and then when I am feeling like gambling, but even then, I am very disciplined and don't buy crap products which have little to no chance of returning anywhere close to my investment (cough...any panini product). I enjoy buying high end singles of the best of the best players for my collection....and gambling with boxes now and then.

Buy singles you want on the aftermarket.... that's the best move.

It has been nearly impossible to consistently recoup your investment opening wax boxes the past 20 years.

Supply and demand. Most people are stupid so they will continue to buy boxes even though the numbers add up that they shouldn't be. When people stay away from an awful product it will tank and usually tanks hard because there is no demand for it.

That's why I only buy cheap blaster boxes or go in on box breaks. I don't have the budget to be buying $100 boxes and even in those you aren't gonna get much it seems.
