estimating value of your collection

Does anyone have a good way for calculating or estimating the value of your collection?

Like how do I know what all my individual items are worth? I tried looking at completed listings or buy it now listings on ebay for the individual player or item (i.e. Derrick Rose floorboard, KEvin Durant 8x10, etc).

I just am curious to know what my stuff is worth, and maybe also for purposes of getting it insured. Also, everyone that sees it always asks and I don't know what to say.

I'm pretty sure my collection is well into 4 figures and possibly more, if I had to guess, but I have no way of knowing.

Depends on soo much.

Certified pack pulled is easy because you can book it and get a ballpark.

TTMs are near impossible without some sort of documentation. As much as the community disliked authenticators they are a necessary evil if your in the resale market and want true value as opposed to hoping somebody takes a chance and trusts your stuff.

Overall though I would try and look at past auction results moreso than BIN listings. Try to find some healthy auctions with multiple bidders to get an idea.

I would like to know the answer to this also. I have most of my stuff in my photobucket but im not sure if I could just send that to an insurance company.

If it is a significant card such as a Rookie, I usually add the price of a cut signature to the price of a card for insurance purchases!

@jtbruds I've heard you need to have an inventoried list of all your autos to be insured, along with rough values, that's why I asked how to obtain what those values might be.

It seems like a royal pain in the arse for me- every time you get a new auto to be insured you'd have to update the list.
