It has nothing to do with "making money"...it has everything to do with the value that you are getting out of the product. UD is pretty balanced as far as value goes, mostly because they have been making hockey cards for such a long time, they know what collectors like to see. One thing is certain though, Panini has the best low end product. Score is way better than Victory.

i have to agree here. If you are in the hobby to make money, then don't open boxes in general. If you are interested in the way the cards look, and the players on the checklist, then go with either company. If you are looking to make money off of a hobby.........maybe collect coins? :)

This statement would be fine if all boxes cost between 25.00 and 40.00. But when there are boxes out there that range in price from 125.00-500.00 there is supposed to be a certain expectation of value inside that justifies the cost.

Which is why I'd just buy 2 boxes of Series 2. Great checklist in there.

I actually prefer Panini products to UD (guess I'm the 1%).

I'd go with a box of Crown who knows you might pull a nice silhouette

MY vote (while isn't one of the two options) is 11-12 Limited. Sure there are bum packs, but there's also shields, 1/1's (and not just foil stamped 1 of 1's either) and even if you end up with a bum ARP, hey you got an ARP for under a hundred bucks! Even then it's like combining an ARP with a scripted swatch. Just freakin cool! Makes it easy to do the set since everyone else seems to think they aren't worth what they should be.
Signature Puck cards, Net presence cards, Manufacturer's Marks, Lots of rookie content mixed with all time greats. So far product of the year for me (and I haven't pulled anything huge yet)

Personally I would go with Crown Royale, it is so much better than last year where if you didn't hit a Silhouette it was awful. This year there are way more hits and even without a hit you can still have a great box. Btw, out of 11 boxes of crown this year I hit 5 Silhouettes which are my 2nd favorite cards next to the UD Ice Premiere Patches.

First limited does not have ARP (Auto rookie patches) the have an auto on material with a FAKE LOGO PATCH. You are not guarenteed one in every in every box.

Personally Id go with UD S1.
