They charge like $30 for a blaster of UD Series 1 hockey at Walmart. I'll go to Target and buy something in the $9.99 or $19.99 range. I always try to get the most for my money it seems.

At least spending $20 for an 11-12 Pinnacle hockey blaster you get 1 GU jersey card.

All that insane mark up is for is so that they can pay their rent. I really feel like writing a letter to someone over at Toys R Us and asking why is a product in the Times Square store more than 50% higher than in a store in the suburbs or at a K-mart or Target or Wal-Mart. Then again why waste my time and effort. I'll just go and buy a $19.99 box at Wal-mart tomorrow!
Like Trevor said, that IS funny!

I went to NYC this last summer, and stayed at the hotel right behind the Toy R Us in Times Square. The Mellinnium Times Square.
Two things about that place;
1. The cards were way overpriced. everything they had I could get at my local Target for 1/3 less. I decided not to purchase anything there.
2. I did get some pictures done late night right outside that store. There are these guys who spray paint pictures of NYC in wild colors. Really cool. We bought three of them. One for each kid, and one for us.
I did not want to roll them up or fold them, so I took them to the UPS store right there inside Toys R Us and shipped them to myself here at home. I was very careful to select an unfolded box, and very clear how I wanted the two guys there to pack the pictures. I even offered to pack and tape them myself, but they said "No problem, we'll take good care of you".
Well, UPS provides tracking of course, so when the day comes for them to arrive, I go online and follow it.
All the way from NYC to Colorado it went, but as it was "out for delivery", the driver noted the box was empty, and never delivered it.
After much hassle, and talking to many people, including my local UPS guy, who swears there was nothing in the box, it was determined they two guys there in that store never put the pictures in the box, and sent it empty, no tape, nothing. They just shipped an empty flat box to me.
UPS covered it though, and I got the $60 the three pictures cost (No receipt) and the shipping charges back.
I did roll a few pennies right next to the ferris wheel downstairs, but other than that, I hate that store..... lol
From what I read here though, it's a TRU thing. They are overpriced like this at every store on cards.
