Panini showing off Black Box Cards on FB
So I saw Panini had posted a link on Facebook that showed cards available in the Black Box for the industry Summit coming up.
Also happend to see some comments people were making on that link.
Here are some examples:
Hi I have a redemption for you. You give me your hard earned money and I will honor my redemption in a year or 2 on paying you back. You're the worst card company ever.
Honestly, worst company for customer service I have ever dealt with. It's taken me 5 months to get any communication on a damaged card I sent back October 13th 2011. Once I did get to talk to someone who would actually help, the attitude I got was awesome (sarcasm). Pathetic
Now personally I dont care about the comments because we all seem to have issues with Panini... HOWEVER I do have issues with some of the cards they displayed and state that "The cards used to create the Black Box hits include small quantities of overruns from our roster of products printed specifically for inclusion in Black Boxes and for other hobby marketing promotions."
Now why would you put out promotional material to the people who will buy your products anyways when you have customers waiting on redemptions?
RNH REDMEPTION FROM LIMITED

Jordan Eberle Crown Coat of Arms Patch Auto REDEMPTION

I'm sure they have this from the other sports in their product line up but why would you advertise that customers wont get their redemption because they had to use it for "promotional material"

I really dont know at this point and time who is worse, Panini or UD. Panini are clearly not the brightest, and UD stopped answering there phones...... and WHY doesnt ITG get another shot at a license? At least their owner comes on here and gives us updates and actually allows us to make decisions on their sets! and how many redemptions do u get from ITG? 0 vs 50% of the autos from Panini. Give me a break

Aaaaannnddd here we go. Mention the word Panini and it seems like you are shining a Bat-signal on this site. I swear some posters search the word "panini" and go to any thread discussing them. None of the card companies are any better than the other. They all have their flaws. And I am not a Panini apologist. I have 3 redemptions pending with them. I am just a realist that knows that they are at the mercy of the athlete (especially with hard signed material). In this specific case, this is extra material that was printed in the event of damaged product. These are extras that every company makes in their run (even the infallible ITG). These are not people's redemptions being "stolen" from them to give to dealers.

Why do we assume that autograph stickers they have set aside for using for promotional items have anything to do with autographed stickers they have set aside for making cards?
I am not trying to make excuses for them (I too have 2 outstanding redemptions that are both over a year old) but I would be surprised to learn that the marketing department and the 'regular' manufacturing department are drawing 100% from the same inventory when it comes to autographs. Seems about as realistic as the notion that when Panini people were posting here (and on other forums) that they could really do anything about the CS department.
