Acoustic Guitar Tuners
I recently started playing guitar and I really enjoy it but I'm looking to buy a tuner rather than play around with the tuning pegs for a while trying to get it right. I saw that you can buy a tuner for around $15. Does anyone know if that is all I need to tune it or do I need something to attach the tuner to the guitar for it to pick up sound? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Most of them have a mic that picks up the sound, some are more sensitive than others, though.
There are some that clip to the head stock.
If you have a pc microphone hooked up you could try Pro Guitar Tuner

I just listen to the first note of Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter and match the low E to it. Bam, easy stuff from there.

Thank you hector234, I'm actually looking at getting a Korg tuner so that's good to hear someone that has one and likes it.

That's awesome, I love Pearl Jam and could listen to Yellow Ledbetter for hours. I might have to try that, thanks for the tip.

real rockers always keep their strings one turn out of tune ;)

Haha, I like that. I can just create my own unique style by having every string tuned in a different key.
