The card shipping ideas thread
Hey all,
My hope is you'll enjoy & learn from the talk that goes on here.
May I say first here I love cards because I've been around them for over 25 years. Until something else comes along that I like, I'm sticking some with what I've put alot of time & energy in.
Ok shipping is an area to look at when dealing cards online.
My methods are always changing, as I'm always open to learning, & I'm still working to figure out that best way.
My perspective discussed below is from selling cards on sites like SportsCardForum & eBay that go for say $1 & more.
Where I'm at is this, I've believed that sending cards in brand new everything is the best decision. Sure you may not do this for I understand. So I think using new penny sleeves, top loads, team/graded set bags, & envelopes & boxes is a very smart road to take. To me this all speaks of how you care.
Depending on the amount any one card goes for determines whether I think it should go in a padded envelope or box. I've kind of set a rule that any purchase of $25 and up automatically is shipped in a firm box.
If a card sales alone for at least a dollar, to me that deserves a new penny sleeve, top load, & team set bag. I've found 5 cards like this fit about as right as you can get in a team set bag. Then I've noticed one team set bag of 5 top loaded cards fits about right in a 4" X 7" bubble mailer (or they are called #000). Two packs of 2 team set bags with 5 top loaded cards per bag have fit well in the 6" x 9" bubble mailer (#0).
I haven't gotten this far yet but I'm thinking any card going for $20 and up gets put in a new magnetic hard cases. This again shows how one cares & gives others a good good impression.
Once a deal goes beyond 10 total cards, I am thinking it's probably best to box this amount.
Ok I am going to cut off the talk right here to allow for others to share their input.
You may not think or be where I'm at, hey that's ok, as long as we can help each other out, or benefit someone else's experience, then I have to believe the job has been well done.
Go have fun in the sport card industry & I'll look forward to hearing your insight.Last edited by bangsportscards; 03-15-2012 at 11:49 AM.
