Rick Barry personalized autos
I see that basketball HOFer Rick Barry signs ttm in return for a donation to his church. I also see that he always personalizes. I do not like personalizations. I do not want my name on the card. If I am paying my hard earned money even though it is donated to a church why should I pay for something that I did not ask for nor do I want? Your thoughts.

i don't like personalizations either. not cause it brings the value down, just looks weird to me when i display them to have my name on it...it's about the player, not me.
don't want to open a can of worms re. religion, but i wouldn't be thrilled about having to donate to a church either. hope he dosen't add bible verses to his sigs, that really annoys me.

Personalizations are pretty cool, but to each his own. You can collect whatever you want.
I have noticed that Rick Barry does not always personalize cards with multiple players (such as 1970's Topps Leaders cards). Good luck.
You should definitely send him a donation with autograph requests.

You could always ask not to personalize the item you have signed, hopefully they dont take it the wrong way. But with so many people turning around and selling autos, doubt many will oblige. Personalization vary for me. Sometimes they are cool, sometimes they blow, but i don't dislike donating to a church. I am not a Christian and yet I would be more than happy to donate if he asked, it's his beliefs. It's not like he's pushing them on you, just asking for kindness in return for an auto.

Yeah I don't mind donating to a religious institution because he could simply just charge $5 then turn around and give it to his church anyway. What he does with the money I send him is his business but if I am paying for an auto I should be able to tell him what I want and what I don't want.
