Vince Carter autographed jersey!
Whats up guys, I went to an autograph signing today including Vince Carter, Brandon Wright, and Brendan Haywood. To make a long story short, I could only get Vince Carter's auto, but was even lucky I did get it.... If enough people really want to hear the whole story behind the autograph signing i'll post it.
Anyway, I bought the jersey online about a week before the signing and it arrived yesterday, just in time for the signing today. It is the Toronto Raptors Throwback Jersey, which I thought would be pretty sweet to get signed. Sorry for the no so great pics, but here they are.

Oh, and they brought along the NBA Championship Trophy and I got to take a picture with it.

It was a very fun and very lucky experience! If anyone has any experience in hanging a jersey, I could definitely use some insight!

Three Tarheel greats doing an autograph signing. I'm jealous.
For hanging, try these guys. I have a few of their diaplay cases and really like them...

If you're going to hang it in your closet, get a a plastic cover like the ones that come from the dry cleaners. If you don't have one, use a trash bag. Flip it upside down, put a small hole in the bottom of the bag right in the middle, then put it over the jersey. This will prevent lint and dirt from getting on the jersey, and it will prevent the auto from fading.

Ok, so the story goes...
The autograph signing was an hour away from my home, and just so happened to be at an Academy Sports and Outdoors in the town I was born in. So, I got down there and had about 4 hours or so until the autograph signing. I check by the store and didnt see a line or anything advertising the signing at all. I left hoping no one had showed up yet, so I went and got something to eat real quick and strolled through the neighborhood I was born in. Then I came back to the store, and I overheard a store worker saying that the players were only signing for 200 people that got wristbands earlier in the day.... I then turned and asked her when the last wristbands were passed out... and she said around 1-1:30 .... which was just after the time I got there. I could have had a wrist band if only I had asked about the signing.
So I began thinking... I have to get at least Vince Carters autograph... I bought this jersey specifically for this opportunity, and it could be my only opportunity get get an autograph in person of an NBA great like VC. I asked a few people if they would try to get my jersey signed and if they could, I would give them some money....but most were too worried to do it, because the players were only supposed to sign 1 autograph per person.
I just about ran out of luck, when I asked these two young kids. I asked if they could try and get my jersey signed I could give them $5, but if they actually got the autograph signed I would give them $10 more. ($15 total, not together) So we waited out the time, and come to find out that they were with there mom.... who just so happened to not have an item to get signed. So it turned out that I could get the autograph after all!
In the end, I thanked the kids that helped me out and left with the biggest grin on my face. I couldnt be happier with the outcome of my trip!
