9x12 postage differences?
Funny story today. We are mailing out some promotional items for work and my boss went with 9x12 envelopes to send the stuff out with. It is being staggered from a few of our locations a week. This Sat I mail my promotional stuff out and talking with him I asked what postage to place on the envelopes. He responded that it depends on the post office? WHAT!!! Some post offices are charging two stamps for what is basically a 9x12 with 1 card stock sheet of paper and two computer paper sheets and other locations just one? He suggested that we took it to our post office and see what they charge? LOL! Here I thought that it would be uniform from one post office to another, but seems to not be the case! Anyone else run into something like this before? It confused me. I may have been over paying to send photos for years!

indyreds,I looked this up for you.I work for the post office,so when I see a disappointed trader,I like to help out.The 9x12 should be .90 cents and YES at all post offices. If you get it for less,a clerk needs retraining on prices.Consider it a gift!!! :)
here's the post for a standard size and oversized
Letters (Up to 6 1/8" x 11 1/2") 1 oz $0.45 cents
2 oz $0.65 cents
Large Envelopes (Up to 12" x 15") 1 oz. 0.90 cents
2 oz $1.10 cents
hope this helps.

Yeah it does help. I personally was wondering, if potential customers might be getting those envelopes as postage due and becoming upset! Looks like I have been right on with the two stamps in my mailings 9x12 for TTM though. Usually 2 stamps and a post card stamp on way out and two stamps on way back.

I've had something similar to this happen to me at my PO for years. I usually send my requests with a blue sharpie. About half the clerks at my post office will charge me the regular rate for under three ounces, which I believe is 1.30. The others say that due to the sharpie, it's rigid, and has to be mailed parcel, not first class, and they charge me about 1.90.
