    Walmart has HOBBY???

So, I was at Walmart today. Walked by the baseball cards to see if there was any value box stragglers left (they seem to be all dried up now)

Anyway.... they were selling hobby boxes???

2009 UD Signature Stars for 69.99 and 2008 Topps Chrome for 49.99

Since when has Walmart sold hobby boxes??

The Signature Stars is a pretty nice product you get 3-4 autos and 2 or 3 game used per box. Overall a pretty fun break.

They have done it in the past with 08 Sweet Spot. They sold individual packs for $20 a piece. I think I got at least $500 worth. Pulled a Griffey auto out of one of them.
Sometimes they will sell full retail boxes in a blister box as well.

If I understand the dynamic correctly Beckett effectively "rents" shelf space from Walmart and sells whatever they have there, which is 99.9% retail. Every now and then they can get some left over hobby stuff and sell it at a discounted price. The Signature Stars can be found cheaper online and the 2008 Topps Chrome is as good as it gets from what I can tell.

At any rate, it's pretty cool to see some hobby, maybe in the future we'll get some awesome possum stuff on those shelves. Heh!

The sig stars is way overpriced though, it should be around $45-50. Thats what blowout is charging.

2008 chrome seems to be a good price, I mean there are alot of good autos you can get

That is Partially correct, It is a Company called Beckett Distributors, They Do NOT have any relation to the beckett Inc we know.

I was told this by the distributor's Rep and confirmed it by beckett Inc directly(I was writing something on it a while back)
