lets bring back Topps hockey cards
fellow hockey collectors, here's a simple question for you:
do you miss these?

or maybe some of those?

do you remember three different Classes in Golb Label series, each with different photo on the background?
how about that Bullion insert that felt like a goldbrick in your hand? refractor, xfractor and superfractor parallels..?
topps company have been always producing very sweet cards and earlier today when a saw cards from their baseball series:

i've realized how much i missed their hockey cards. not only that they still produce basseball cards, they're also involved with basketball, rugby, soccer and even TV series such as LOST or series dedicated to the Lord Of The Rings trilogy -
so everytime i see cards like this:

i have to ask "why won't you get a licence for hockey?!"
so i decided to let them know that there is demand amongs the hockey collectors but i would need your help as well.
anybody else out there feeling the same? why won't we try to bring back series such as chrome, finest, bowman, gold label, pristine and maybe as well some new ones? i know topps won't let collectors down when it comes to design (and great photographs!)
please take a minute to let topps company know how we feel so they could at least reconsider getting back on the hockey market! every mail counts!
comments welcome
thank you!

They've had the hockey license and lost the hockey license twice for a reason.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

They are a far superior card company than Upper Deck. In 15 dealings with Upper Deck and with Topps, every time I dealt with Topps I came away more than satisfied.
With Upper Deck it was: Reload, complain, Reload, complain, Reload. Upper Deck thinks that everyone is a 5 year old kid buying his first pack of cards. They try their best to ignore you, rip you off or both.Last edited by centrehice; 03-24-2012 at 07:21 PM.

"They've had the hockey license and lost the hockey license twice for a reason."
They didn't lose it twice, they gave it up twice. Big difference.

I really really like Topps and I would love it if they came back to hockey and especially if they bought back the rights to O-Pee-Chee from Upper Deck. However, I know that neither is likely to happen. It is very interesting what Dr. Price said about Topps NHL license, that they let it go rather than what I had always thought, which was that they lost it.

I like Topps. I really appreciate some of their stuff, especially the chromes, xfractors, they've gotten better with some high end stuff. But at the same time they have some serious failures. I am all for more variety and competition in the products. The only requirement I would put on it is that all companies are cut back to less overall product allowances. The hobby couldn't stand 10+ more products including everything that is already there.

i think 'the grass is always greener' applies here. though topps does make some nice cards... they are extremely expensive. the tribute card shown above is $50 a pack with most of the cards being a bat piece or jersey piece. their new stuff is just as many, if not more, parallels than panini/ud. i'm not sure guys... i do hear a lot of complaints about topps from the other sports people i talk to. not as much as about panini... ahaha.. but still there.
