In honor fo 7,000 cards, Arizona Diamondbacks Card A Day
I have been looking for something fun to do to show off my collection as I am about 30 or 40 cards away from 7,000 different Diamondbacks cards. After spending literally a couple hours going through the old Card a Day thread for the Rays collections, I figured this might be a fun thing to do. I don't get as many cards in as I used to, so this is a fun way to keep going through my collection and getting some scanning done. Some cards will be super high end, and others may not be that exciting to a lot of people. But either way, it'll showcase a nice wide variety. And hey, one 1998 expansion team has Card A Day, why not another.
Anyway, for those that don't know, I've been collecting the Diamondbacks for around 13 years now. My mom bought me a pack of 1999 Topps and I pulled my first one, a Tony Batista base card. Little did she know, it would start me on a collecting kick that has never really ended. There have been periods of a little less interest and my focus on certain players often leads me to neglect the overall team collection. But I think I've built up a pretty solid collection, and hopefully this is a fun thread for everyone. I may be one of the very few D-backs collectors out there, but I do love my team and can't wait for 2012.
Anyone can feel free to jump in and add any D-backs cards if they want or just talk about anything, I'm always up to discuss and enjoy others cards.
I'll start off with one of my favorite cards. It took my a few years to track down this card and I had to pay a pretty decent price for it, but it was definitely worth it. Of course, one of these players is not like the other, and I do wish they had found a way to get Luis Gonzalez on the card instead. But Spivey had a couple good seasons here and I always liked him, so it could've been worse (not by much though).

Thanks for the kind comments all!
I think its right. It does look strange with the copyright info and stuff, but they wanted it formatted like the front with the johnson auto on top and the schilling on bottom, so I think it's fine.
And Tim, its strange, but you don't see as many Randy autos pop up these days. I see a lot with outrageous BIN's, but not as many come up for auction as they used to. I'm looking to pick up a nice one soon hopefully.
Like most people, I'm a sucker for late '90s, early '00s Parallels. Here is one of my favorites of one of my all-time favorite D-backs, Jay Bell. He had one of the greatest moments in D-backs history when his grandslam won someone in the stands $1 million, I'll definitely never forget that and still watch the video sometimes. It's the Atomic Refractor/100 and is definitely one of the most interesting looking cards I have.

Today's card features a good chunk of my favorite logo of the Diamondbacks. It is the left eye of the snake that is usually on their jersey sleeves.

Yeah its from 2011, its from Topps Lineage I believe. Its part of the 60th Anniversary set and the patch is /5. I believe there is a plain jersey version as well /10.
