Taylor Hall to Have Shoulder Surgery
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=391516
Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall is out for the season and faces a long road to recovery from shoulder surgery.
Hall will undergo labral shoulder surgery on his left shoulder in hopes of being healthy again in time for next season.
"Recovery time will be between five and six months, so our hope is that Taylor will be ready for the start of next season." said Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini. "He's going to have an incredible career, so this is the right time to take care of business and get this (surgery) done."
Hall injured the shoulder for the first time in junior and has been playing through it for most of this season.
"It's not the way I envisioned my career starting, but I hope to stay healthy after this and be a good Oiler for a long time," said Hall.

Not necessarily, The Oilers aren't making the playoffs anyways and he'll be back just in time for the start of next season, fully healthy for the first time in a while. He injured his shoulder in juniors and has been playing with a bad shoulder for about four years now. He even said himself that he's excited to see how well he plays when he's 100% healthy. Scary, isn't it? That he's been playing this well for this long with a bad shoulder. Hall is a warrior, He'll get through this and I believe next year he'll return better than ever and take his game to the next level.

I really have to wonder what the Oilers would have done without the injuries to Hall and RNH.

Not that kind of Oh, oh. This is about Hall, not the Oilers season.
He played the whole year with this shoulder problem, which tells me that it may have been more astute to have surgery sooner?
I trust that there has been no irreparable damage in the interim.

Well, he's actually been playing with a bad shoulder since he was in the juniors. Should he have gotten it fixed a long time ago? Yeah he probably should have.
I'm just saying it's a good time for him to have surgery done, because it's not like he's going to miss out on the playoffs because the Oilers aren't making them anyways, and he'll be able to return better than ever for next season.
