This is hands down the DUMBEST article I've ever read in my life pertaining to sports.

How exactly would that be fair? Hey Anthony Davis....you're the best player, so you pick where you go. I'm sure you'll equally consider Charlotte just like you will Miami or LA, right?

Get outta here. The NBA would seriously end up having to contract close to 70% of the teams if this was actually a legit scenario.

The Spurs would be screwed, although they do have the longest streak of not having lottery-pick talent. Not to mention not being a destination for top FAs. That would just make it harder.

I do think the draft needs some fixing because teams that do well shouldn't have to suck to ensure stability in the future.

    100% correct.

So because small market teams can't get superstar players, you're gonna take away the draft, and let the kids decide where they want to go? I have no idea how that possibly could make sense to anyone.

Agree with you especially on the DUMBEST article part. Having prospects choose where they want to go is definitely an idiotic idea and completely screws over all the small market teams. Do people really want to go to Toronto, Minnesota, or Sacramento if they had a choice?

I think instead they should do a tournament of the bottom 14 teams, single elimination, winner takes the first picks, and then second place gets second pick etc. That would add some fun either to the post season, so people can cheer for their teams even if they don't make it to the playoffs and stop the tanking. Of course there's nothing to stop Stern from fixing these games, so might not be the best idea.

they have a lottery, so the worst team is not rewarded the top pick, they are guaranteed to get no lower than 4th pick, which can be a great player in some years and an average player in some drafts...
