Ebay Question
I had a few auctions end last night and when I woke up today I checked to see if the winning bidders had paid. They had, but I found something interesting from one buyer. He won a single auction and proceeded to message me dictating how I am to ship the cards. I have 100% positive feedback with no signs or cause for concern relating to my shipping methods/track record(all cards go out day of the end or next postal day) and I ship with penny sleeve, toploader, team bag, and bubble mailer. Never have I had a card returned because it was damaged. This guy demands that I use two pieces of cardboard, plus all of the above. He is getting free shipping on a $10 card. I really want to refund him his money and not deal with it but I really do not want to get hit with a negative for something like that. Thoughts?

I would very politely explain that your description clearly states how you would ship and if he had any questions, he should have asked prior to bidding. I would then also politely ask if he was still interested in receiving the card the way your description was originally laid out.
Hope that helps, James.

I see where you're coming from, and he sounds like a bit of a piece of work.
However, I have to wonder if two pieces of cardboard (decoys?) is really worth making a deal out of it.
Personally, I would ship as he described, if two pieces of cardboard is the only extra stipulation. It may affect the shipping rate, but would be minimal at best. I would also message him back explaining your side and record, but I don't think it's worth making a stink over.
I can sort of see where he's coming from. I've won auctions that had similar descriptions of shipping, only te receive them in a PWE. It is a little rude, though.

If your shipping process is stated in your auction, then he agreed to those terms by bidding on your auction.
Even if it isn't, I don't believe there's any stipulation that permits him to dictate how you ship your cards. I will stress though that that doesn't mean he won't pitch a fit and file a complaint.
That said, I wouldn't personally risk anything here. The sale is done and paid for? Go to USPS and pick up a shipping box for free and cut it up if you don't have access to cardboard some other way. Two slabs of cardboard won't change anything in terms of shipping costs to you, so why bother picking a fight over it.

Message him back and say you'll agree to his terms if he video tapes himself opening the package with a chicken suit on.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I appreciate it! I just really don't understand some people. I could understand his cause for concern IF this was a big ticket item, I really don't feel like arguing over it though. Maybe I'll put the card in a one touch, tape it up, use a team bag, put two pieces of cardboard around it, put it in a flat rate box, and fill it with packing peanuts.....

Excellent idea. Make sure to overstuff the peanuts so they end up everywhere when he opens it.

I wonder if you could get some CO2 and find a way to pressurize it so when he opened it, it shot the peanuts all over the room....

Do what he asked, putting it in a small bubble mailer. Then put the small bubble mailer inside a medium sized bubble mailer. Then, put the medium sized on in a large bubble mailer. Repeat the process with boxes also.
It'd be more expensive to ship it, but it'd sure as hell be worth it to make him open.
