Today in Nascar History April 30th:

Winners on this date: Junior Johnson, Richard Petty (4 times!), Mark Martin, Jeremy Mayfield, and Kyle Busch.

April 30th, 1966: Richard Petty wins at Darlington to a tiny crowd of 7000 spectators and 5000 boy scouts who were let in for free. Petty’s competition is diminished greatly by Ford’s boycott (the reason for less fans) and he wins by over 3 laps.

April 30th, 1995: Mark Martin holds off Jeff Gordon to win at Talladega as Dale Earnhardt is spun on the last lap by Morgan Shepherd while in 3rd.

April 30th, 2000: Jeremy Mayfield scores a win for Roger Penske at one of Penske's tracks, California Speedway.

April 30th, 2011: Kyle Busch leads another JGR stomping at Richmond as he and teammate Denny Hamlin dominate much of the race and finish 1-2. Busch's win is his 3rd straight in the Spring event at Richmond.
