Peerless patches - safe or not?

I'm gonna start collecthing this set, the parallell to Cup's Limites logos really, but now I wonder, is there the same risk of fakes? I've seen some truly astonishning peerless patches, but haven't read anything about fakes. If it had been LL, many scream fake when you see a crazy patch.Like this one, had it been the Cup I wouldn't even dare to bid:

But now when it's Dominion, what is the case?

I think there is a lot less fake patches out there than what most people believe. Like you, I've seen some amazing patches out of Dominion in the Peerless subset, such as the one you posted. I pulled an incredible Rinne out of my only box of Dominion. In defense of The Cup, I've also seen many legit Limited Logos from 08-09 that used the same Penguins shoulder patch as that one, including Malkin, Fleury and Sid. All in all I think your quite safe if your taking a stab at this set, and I'd love to see one put together. Good luck!

Keep in mind, Panini will also authenticate their products.

I'm sure the timeline for doing so would put you outside any window for getting a refund if you were to get a fake off eBay though.

I herd that Panini has a method for authentication and that some hockey products have this as well:

GL with the Peerless Patches. Its a great set.

I'd be less concerned about someone faking the patch, and more concerned if the jersey was ever game worn/issued

That is another question, I do wonder if the companies simply don't rip us off and say it's gameused when it's not. And who is to say it's ever been worn by that player anyway, perhaps it's a replica. Actually I don't like they always wash the stuff, if it's gameworn it should be nice and smelly. I only trust ITG fully in this regard, if you take a really old gameused from Between the pipes for instance, it *stinks* lol! Just as it should, that's the real stuff.

Anyway, I know people keep track of faked patches on the Cup etc, there has been no such reports on Dominion then?

Interesting method with the flash there...

Hey I just tried it! On a Pinnacle jersey it was very easy. On the thick Staal peerless patch I got it's harder to see, definitrely can't read anything, but I can see there's numbers and stuff. This is really genious if it works like this. Hello Upper Deck, copying this great idea perhaps? : )
