Taking a poll, did i get ripped off?
Ive been thinking about getting into hockey for a while but dont know prices but I finally pulled the trigger. For $30 dlvd i got the following
All are Be a Player Signatures
2008-09 Duncan Keith
2009-10 Bobby Ryan
2009-10 Erik Karlsson
2009-10 Patrick Kane
2009-10 Pekka Rinne
2009-10 Marc Staal
2009-10 Saku Koivu
Did i get ripped, fair price, or make off like a bandit?

I think you probably did better than fair. I wouldn't say that you made out like a bandit, but you definitely got the better end of the deal in my opinion.

All depends on you. Who do you collect?? Are you keeping these or are they for the sake of trading up?? Nice lot though.

Stands for Be a Player. The name of the set of the cards you have.

I'd say you did pretty well.
Kane is worth at least half your price already. Karlsson is another 10$ since he's hot right now. That leaves 5 autos for 5$ and free s/h. And those 5 players aren't third liners either, but pretty well known.
BAP is an acronym for Be A Player

The BAP set is an NHLPA requested set which more or less requires a player to sign if they are included in the set. BAP has autographs of many NHL players that aren't found in other products. Sometimes that's because those players aren't popular enough to be included in other sets. Other times, its because the player refuses to deal with a manufacturer and won't sign for them otherwise.
In terms of value, the market has become flooded with autographs. Since the BAP set is almost entirely focused on player autographs, they have become devalued. The price point remains relatively high because its a "one auto per pack" product, but because of the inclusion of less popular players, some people don't like the return on value when opening the packs.
Hope this helps. Take a look on eBay and you'll see what I mean.
