3 National Player of the Year Awards in college.... You do know the Hall of Fame is more than just players in the NBA right? None of those players achieved anything like he did in college.

Redick was the two time Adolph Rupp Trophy Winner (Nation's Best Player), AP National Player of the Year award winner, all-time leading scorer in ACC history (at the end of his career), and is the greatest shooter from beyond the arc in NCAA history.

Hansbrough was a four time All American (First Team three times), National Player of the Year, and all time leading scorer in ACC history, among various other accolades.

Sampson was a great player, but if you put him in the Hall of Fame, then you have to consider at least Redick and Hansbrough, and you know neither of them are worthy.

Sampson had more accomplishments than both combined on the college level if were talking about awards and everyone knows Ralph Sampson actually was a good player in the NBA until injuries took over like what happened with Bill Walton. He had 3 Naismath player of the year awards, 2 John Wooden Awards, 3 time USBWA player of the year, 3 time Adolph Rupp awards, 2 NABC player of the year awards, 3 AP player of the year awards, 3 UPI player of the year awards, 3 time ACC player of the year, 3 time NCAA All American first team.

Sampson - 25 college awards (28 if you include an award they no longer give out)
Tyler Hansbrough - 11 college awards
JJ Redick - 9 college awards

Do you mind sharing what awards you're referencing for each player and where you're getting the numbers from? I'm just curious, as I'm finding the numbers fo the latter two low.

Wikipedia of course haha. They have the awards of the players each got on the side. They actually forgot to put 2 Redick's all-american teams.

I was out of town when this was announced.

Jamaal Wilkes made it into the HOF? Ralph Sampson?

I'm a UCLA & Laker fan, and I never expected Jamaal Wilkes to make it into the HOF.

I think Ralph Sampson getting in is a little like Bill Walton. Awesome college career, but pro career cut short by injuries. Not sure if anyone mentioned Bill Walton in the Sampson arguments.

Oh yeah, jbball50 did mention Walton. I think that's a fair comparison.
