Card Saver I and II - Soft Corners?

I've had some of my older cards stored in penny sleeves and Card Saver I's over the last several years and now find that some their bottom corners appeared squeezed and bruised. When I take them out of the card saver, the corners are normal - no sign of any wear - but I have to wonder whether long term, these holders cause the corners to soften and get damaged.

Am I just paranoid or are Card Savers not the best place to store cards long term?

Cardsavers are not preferred. They are semi-rigid, so I don't like them. Pretty sure the cheapest and still safe way is to put the cards in a penny sleeve then in a Top Loader.

If you have something valuable, a Magnetic one touch holder is probably the best in terms of protection.

I wonder what person thought of the idea of a card saver... You're only supposed to send cards to get graded in them, thats it
