SP Game Used
I have a truly deep love / hate relationship with this product. I really do love breaking it because the 'big' hits are a super-fun chase. That said, someone else rightfully said for the most part you end up with a whack of super-cheap jersey cards, another couple of still-pretty-much-useless parallels, and a sticker auto of a C-lister. Now, that said, getting a true game-used nameplate letter, or a six or seven patch card with some nasty pieces...that's the lure. And they are there, for sure, but I think this product overall is in need of a strong redesign as the configuration has, for the most part, been unchanged for years and the vast, vast majority of boxes don't hold their value. And for what it's worth, adding manufactured patch autos as case hits to a product called "Game Used" to me is pretty stupid on a variety of levels. ;-)
I am looking forward to it, but with great hesitation. I may buy a box, I may buy a case...but likely a box or two is as far as I'll go as experience has taught me that you get two, maybe three, winning boxes out of a case, and that is a bad ratio for a higher-end product, in my view. But for those that are doing cases or half cases, it will be fun while it lasts and good luck!!

I never understood really the big wow in this product, the first years were nice and cool but then they just continue year after year doing the same stuff and design just goes down each year.. I bought 2 boxes last year, came up with absolute nothing back for the value.. the regular jerseys which you find in every pack doesnt hold much value and sticker autos shouldnt belong in product thats sell for 130$ or so a box thats just bad. I saw last year some insane boxes its a big hit or miss product, if you get something hot you usually get 2 nice cards , if you get bad then you regret you bought it :( shame..
I also agree they should change what you get from an average box, i prefer artifacts you get at least all memorabilia cards that are numbered, and one is guranteed to be a double or triple, and for 45$ less money.Last edited by mortuus; 04-11-2012 at 07:29 AM.

It's just as bad a Luxury Suite with a few better hits in the quads, 5, 6, 7, 8 way patches. Luxury Suite actually had auto rookies while SPGU, you don't really have that to chase.
If UD thought of getting rid of a product, this is the one they should consider.
Not a big fan when its 200 a box.

I love this product, I'm in for 2 boxes at least, if you are looking to break even or make a buck on busting this stuff sell cards right away, the rookies especally hold little value, in the past I've had some really good hits such as a Crosby rookie, Phaneuf auto/10, Malkin auto patch, Pronger letter off the nameplate (GU), and a 6 patch with Greztky, good luck to everyone busting SPGU

SPGU is a product I learned to avoid.

Don't say that! I've already prepaid!
Either way, I'll learn.
