Read wasn't even nominated. The nominees are New Jersey Devil's Adam Henrique, Edmonton Oilers Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Colorado Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog.

Gabriel Landeskog:
Landeskog was one of only 2 NHL rookies to hit 20 goals this year (22) and tied for the rookie scoring race at 52 points (with RNH). He was also second in rookies with a +20 rating and finished second (to Read) in GWG with 5, including an overtime winner (one of only 6 rookies to do so this season)

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins:
Despite playing the least amount of games between the 3 finalists, the Nuge finished tied for 1st in rookie scoring with 52 points (18G, 24A). He finished with a -2 rating and had 2 game winners. Consider him a long shot at winning the Calder.

Adam Henrique:
Henrique was the other top 3 rookie scorer this year with 51 points (16 G, 35A) and lead the NHL with 4 short handed goals this season. 4th among rookies with 3 game winners and a +8 rating and only 7 penalty minutes and finished among the 6 rookies who scored an overtime winner this season, Henrique should give Landeskog a small fight, but not enough to take him over.

Winner: Gabriel Landeskog
