A Fresh ebay Scam Alert!

Well how does he get away with it if someone wins "his" card? Aren't there PayPal protections or........something??? I've never understood how to rip someone off on eBay and actually keep the money, and I'm no angel, believe me........

I've had this happen to me before on a $800 card purchase.

Found out someone stole a picture from another seller after I paid, and the claim took like 3 weeks, but I got my money back. I was fearful the scammer would cash out the money before they could recover it, but it takes a while to take money off PayPal, so I'm assuming once you open a claim they don't process the money transfer until its resolved.

You have to sign up with a credit card don't you? so if the money was removed by the scamming seller i'd imagine Paypal would just charge the credit card??

I originally signed up with a credit card, but then deleted my credit card info once I linked my bank account to my paypal account. You need to have one or the other.

Problem is if you have your bank account set up, you could take it out of your account and not have a card to get charged on.

However, it takes a long time to transfer from PayPal to your bank, and even more time for it to process and then takes time to cash it from your own bank account.

I think PayPal would freeze your account and keep the funds once you file a claim on the money, but it still worries me at times.

I emailed the seller of the card and they admitted it wasn't the card pictured and that they have the 5/5...I protested the use of someone else's photo and they said it was the only option they had at the time...

Seems like it might just be someone who isn't as aware of the effects these types of minor differences (numbering, patches) can have on a card...

The scammer must be desperate....
