Came across this while cruising Mj auctions on Ebay. I've never seen a card slabbed Authentis, but "Altered" from BGS. Can someone enlighten me? Thx

It is an authentic 86-87 Jordan Rookie, but it was altered along the way, so it didn't get a grade. That's my take on it anyway.

I get that but "altered" how?
It had a chipped edge, so they colored it with a magic marker?
Put it on one of those big handled paper cutters and sliced a 1/16th of a inch off to better centering?
Just curious because I've never seen an "altered" slabbed card.
Anyone know the real meaning of altered?

    Altered means exactly that.

Someone tried to touch it up to make it look better. BGS looks at cards under a microscope I assume, so they saw some alterations.

I only accept payment via credit card or bank/debit card. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL

Classic right there when selling an altered card.
