Rookie Card Eligibility
Just wondering since Jake Allen is expected to be the Blues backup tonight:
Will he be eligible for rookie cards in 12-13 products? I know he would if he would've been a backup for a regular season game. Does this apply to the playoffs too? Couldn't find an answer so any help is appreciated. Just curious.

Was actually thinking about this tonight when they focused on him. Schwartz, Allen, and possibly Tarasenko next yearare going to empty my bank account.

So I guess does that mean with his 5 NHL Games played sven bartschi will become a regular in products next year? Like you guys he will probably empty my bank account.
I really have wondered about the eligibility in products, there seems to be an influx of rookie cards that dont need to be produced. For example a player who was called up and played 1 or 2 games and is produced in every product the next season yet never plays a game that year. Just a pack filler I guess?

They have to give you those RC hits somehow, while still limiting th enumber of copies of the star Rookies :)

Bartschi was up on an emergency call-up basis so I don't think that counts. I'm asuming he'll make the team next year and will be in products later in the year, just not the early stuff.

A skater only needs to play one game and a goalie only needs to dress as far as I know. Regular season or playoffs.

That's an interesting one.
I thought you were right - emergency callups were not eligiable.... but Brayden Schenn got into every early season (i.e. before the season started) release last year, so that must not be the case.

Can't wait to see the Bruins RC for next year. They didn't have any callups til later in the season. So should see a couple of guys-Camper, Sauve, MacDermid, maybe Hutchinson.

Brayden Schenn made his NHL debut for 1 game as an emergency call-up in October 2009 for the Kings. His first NHL card, other than his BAP card, didn't come out until the 2010/11 season. I'm assuming UD would have had a YG card for him in the 2009/10 series 1 or 2 if they were allowed.
