Yeah the MS13 gang is a rough bunch. They've been around for awhile too and are steadily spreading across the US.
Glad you and your family are okay and at least one person was arrested.

I hope your looking into insurance on the collection and a great alarm system...
Another idea...Host a house party meet the neighbors and maybe start a crime watch group...

I agree with MadMan, a security system and neighborhood crime watch sounds good, but for the ultimate home protection you might want to consider getting one of these...

Crime Watch only works if someone sees them first and the security system only works if they don't cut your electricity off first. Rottweilers work all the time :)
Hope you get your stuff back. With an MS13 gang located so close I would definitely be upgrading my defensive measures if I were you. Good exterior lighting and thorny bushes under all lower level windows is a good deterent too.

Actually most good reliable security companies use electric panels with battery back-ups. I know my ADT can survive on the battery for up to 3-days, so cutting the power wouldn't help in most cases.

Yeah my security system has a bad arse battery backup. Not to mention it runs off of satellite and not the phone lines like some do. Also has motion sensors that you can turn on when you are not home so if anything over 30lbs (I don't have any dogs) moves it sets it off and then it takes a few pictures from the camera we have installed lol. Pretty awesome to have.

That's a very scary story, and I'm glad to hear that you and the family are all right. Good luck recovering all of your stolen items, and hopefully the cops can bust the little scumbags that invaded your home.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
