exactly, a civil lawsuit judgement is just a paper, the collection process is where the real challenge begins. gang bangers dont keep bank accounts and any assets wont be registered in their name, so that would be a total waste of time.

This is complete BS! Wow Intruder cam in and intruded...against the law there, and stealing and vandalism is against the law again. You are allowed to kill someone if on your lawn without permission!

Gotcha ya.
I know years ago someone used to keep their jewelery in a waterproof case in their fish tank. Someone broke into their home and attempted to retrieve the case. Little did the moron know that there were piranhas in the tank. I know he brought a lawsuit but I don't remember what the outcome was.
TrueIrishFan616, I would invest in a couple of dogs that like snacks now and then during the day. Just make sure you have a sign indicating such in plain view of potential unwanted visitors. I tell my dogs not to have too much fun until we get home. I don't want to clean up a bunch of bones, I'd much rather have them cart someone off in a body bag.

Maybe the intruder had something shinny in his hand and it appeared to be a blade. Sucks to be him.

Just saying, I hadn't heard of the law where if someone walked on your lawn without permission you could shoot him...
