    EXPensive jordan inserts?

Hey SCF why are certain jordan inserts so expensive? Some of his inserts like these....http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-UD-HARD...#ht_2375wt_933

go for more than his bgs 9.5s RC. In my opinion I would much rather get a couple nice jordan fleer RCS.

The reason is because they are low numbered and are rare!! MJ inserts from the 90's are what are hot and big budget collectors are willing to shell out that kind of cash to have them. I believe there are more BGS 9.5's out there than the rare low numbered MJ inserts.

Not only rare these cards, but heavily shilled as well. Wouldn't of seen a increase of 100% on previous sales 2 years ago compared to now. That i find impossible!

The above reasons, and I will add to those, sheer stupidity. Those cards, in the long run, won't be worth anywhere near what people are paying for them right now. A PSA 10 Fleer Jordan RC sold on eBay for $32,000 in the late 90's. Now you can get more than half a dozen of them for that. "Collectors"/speculators get caught up in hype when a particular trend is hot, and the bubble later deflates. It happened with inserts, then GU'ed/autos, now with very high-grade cards and 90's inserts. There always has been and will always be some group of cards that speculators foolishly chase. Buy multiples of quality cards when they are cheap and sell your doubles when they get hot, reinvest your profits into your collection and you can collect for virtually free on the speculator's dime.
