Fleer stinks
I knew this would happen eventually...I have not once in my time collecting cards (22 years) have I pulled a redemption card from Fleer. Today, out of one of those retail boxes with multiple packs:
2004-05 EX-L Autograph Redemption - Luol Deng /200
Not the best auto, but definitely not the worst, but it doesn't matter anyway because the stinking deadline past on October 31st.
Oh, well...I also pulled a couple of jersey cards out of this box, so it wasn't a total loss...

Fleer Bankruptcy Update 11/29/05
Why does everyone who has a fleer redemption think they are going to get an auto card? Yeah the deadline passed on oct 31 for submitting, but that is only for getting a settlement in the class action suit. The law firm is not interested in getting each and every redemption card filled, they lumped us all into one suit and the Fleer auction and sale of the their assets will help pay for that suit.
EVERYONE who filed on or before that Oct 31 date or sent in a redemption card that was never filled is in the database. And for every card you sent in or filed, you will receive in the mail if you have not gotten it already, a notification from the law firm. I received four individual notices from Porzio for my four cards. Essentially what it says on the notice is that on 11/07/05 they applied for an order to 1) to approve the the redemption card program 2) approve the auction procedures 3) authorize the sale of the remaining trading cards
It then says we can obtain a full copy of what transpires at the hearing on Dec 9th or you can go to fleerabc.com
So either way you won't get any cards, even if you pulled that and sent it to the NJ Court system in time. People tend to gloss over the fact that Fleer is Bankrupt and that by sending in your redemption card assumed they will get one in return. IT might work like that if they were still in business, but the fact that there is no one working at fleer and have not since MAY (!!!!!) and besides we had to send them to a courthouse in NJ. Do you honestly think the legal system in NJ cares whether we get cards? Of course not, the Lawyers representing us felt that it would be easiest if everyone got a small piece of the claim than getting the thousands of unfulfilled autos sent out. Do you realize how much work that is? And if you say that you didn't join in the claim, or that you don't agree with it, then you are more than welcome to start your own suit. Fleer is bankrupt and you won't win a damn thing, not to mention if you did send in your cards you then automatically joined in the suit and gave your consent to let the lawyers handle it. So anyone who filed do not get your hopes up, don't expect anything, and please don't believe anyone who tells you that you will be getting an autograph, because you won't. It doesn't matter if anyone believes me or not because that is what is going to take place. All you have to do is wait to read the legal brief they will post after the Dec 9th hearing, if that will even be clear enough to follow.

Wow! I feel like killing myself after reading that dark, gloomy, depressing, and dismal previous post. I received six of those "pat-on-the-back" reply cards from the money-bags. War getting one crummy auto & two useless Gu per redemption.
6 redemptions = 6 low-end autos & 12 no name Gu's ***PRICELESS***
