topps redemption question
checked the mail today and was very surprised to see a redemption envelope from topps. checked the redemption site to see what may have shipped recently and nothing new, still the same cards i've been waiting for for awhile now.
open it up finally and its a finest base auto of phil davis. thing is i have no redemptions for a davis base auto, been trying to get one forever but no luck. i have one davis card thats been pending, another finest moments auto, but no base auto. there was also no letter with it saying it was a replacement nor have i ever asked topps to replace anything.
so is this just my lucky day and a davis auto just fell from the heavens? i mean if it was a replacement made without me even asking for one, doesn't topps usually pack a note in with the card saying its a replacement?
not complaining in the least, just curious if this may have happened to anyone else and if anyone can confirm that if it was a replacement for another card if it should have a note saying so. thanks for any help you can give.

I would never go by the pending or shipped status. I have one still showing pending that i gor over a year ago. However, Any time I have gotten a replacement it has had a note.
Sounds like it may be your lucky day which would be pretty sweet.

It could possibly be a replacement. You could always call up Topps to see what redemptions you have currently pending.

I think its your lucky day......daparham is right, I don't think topps wouldn't replace something without a letter.
What I fear is that they made a mistake and meant to shipped your finest moments and just didn't mark it as shipped. I would check to see if your other Davis cards are still coming.

thats what i was thinking as they did that before. they marked the phil davis auto as shipped then the finest moments auto showed, got worried but eventually got the gold.
in this particular case, if they sent me the base over the finest moments i really ain't gonna complain as i need the base auto.
thanks for letting me know that if it was a replacement that it more than likely would have had a note with it.
