Helmet card questioni
I just bought a helmet card from exquisite football. Though I don't collect football, I thought they looked really nice and it's super thick.
Anyone think that hockey will come out with helmet cards or have they already?

Wonder if it will be any card in the future with piece of a actual goalie mask?
It would be crazy but impossible....
It's a quite strange that isn't many or no cards (until now) with game worn helmet on....
But it's difficult to use pieces of helmet on a card because a helmet is almost curved in all way, so the card must be very thick.

Goalies are also very protective of their masks and don't usually part with them. The notable exception is of course Carey Price, who does the occasional charity mask that he wears for a game or a few games and then makes available for auction. But he's a good guy that way...even if some of his detractors out there for some reason think that he designs them himself and thus needs to spend more time practicing stopping pucks. But I digress.

I always find it funny that Price (from BC and playing in Montreal) and Luongo (from Montreal and playing in BC) both pay so much attention to their masks. I mean, I'm sure every goalie considers it their most important piece of equipment, but these two always have a new one. Luongo has to regular masks that he switched up every so often and has a brand new one almost ever year. The two are very similar about their masks. I just think it's funny.
Also, whether designing their masks or not, I think it's ludicrous to think that "more practice" will solve any goalie's problem. It's not as if he'd be skipping practice to go design a mask.

Well maybe they can do custom masks for photos shoots or something. I mean football has helmet cards. They are super thick but look really nice.

Some people just look for any excuse to rationalize their (often) irrational dislike of a player. I can't speak to the Luongo aspect of things, but as far as Carey's masks go, it's usually people that are still bitter over Halak being traded that are critical of Price's semi-frequent mask changes. Yeah it may result in $15K being raised for the Montreal Children's Hospital or the MFRC or Wounded Warriors, but oh noes we lost in a shootout in the game because Carey was too busy finger-painting with David Arrigo instead of practicing breakaways.

That must be sweet. I've come across plenty on a game worn jersey site I am a member of. I actually tried to buy a mask off a goalie a few years ago. Played for the team I go to regularly. I had like $600 or more saved up ready to offer him. Asked him a couple times so I wasn't a nag. He ended up deciding to keep it.
Probably never have that chance again as he was cool and gave me sticks all the time.
