Fan of sponsors or driver ?

I was introduced to NASCAR back in 1983. I new some names of drivers but never knew much about the sport. I began watching races and cheering for specific sponors of cars more than the driver himself. Here is the list of some cars i cheered for during the 80's, 90's 2000's.
    1980's
    PEPSI - DARRELL WALTRIP
    HARDEES - CALE YARBOURGH
MILLER HIGH LIFE - BOBBY ALLISON
    WRANGLER - RICKY RUDD
BUDWEISER - DARRELL WALTRIP / NEIL BONNETT, TERRY LABONTE
    LEVI GARRETT - RICKY RUDD
    MOTORCRAFT - RICKY RUDD
    1990's
CITGO - NEIL BONNETT, DALE JARRETT, MORGAN SHEPPHERD, MIKE WALTRIP
    MILLER DRAFT - RUSTY WALLACE
    BURGER KING - JOE NEMECHECK
    2000's
    UPS - DALE JARRETT
    REESE'S - KEVIN HARVICK
NAPA - MIKE WALTRIP / MARTIN TRUEX
    REESE'S
    M & M's

I follow the driver. Then suport the sponser. So for 10 yrs we only shop at home depot. And no one in my family still cannot step foot into lowes. Also m&m candy is not allowed in my house. I also stopped drinking miller light when kurt started driving for penske.
    But thats just me.

Fan of the driver. I don't care who the sponsor is for the most part.

I support my driver before anything, of course!
I dont care what sponsor Brad drives, or whether he drives a Dodge, Chevy, Ford, or Toyota...Im still going to be a fan.
Someone who's a fan of a sponsor and not a driver isnt what I like to call a "fan", but more like a bandwagoner...

I can understand going with the sponsor your driver goes for, but Im not going to let that dictate my decision on what I purchase or where I purchase it from.

I mean, Brad drives for Miller Lite..I like Miller Lite, but Keystone Light is pretty good too.
But Im not going to stop drinking something, or eating something, or buying from a store just because it's not on my drivers car in any way, shape, or form.

I agree with you, I could care less really who sponsors my driver(s). When we lived in Wash., we went to Home Depot as it was the closest, Now we live in NC, we go to Lowes as it's the closest. I Like Kyle, however I have m & M's candy, the wife hates kyle, however loves M & M's. I like J. Gordon, however not going out of my way to buy DuPont paint.
