    I haven't sent out a card to be signed in a long time but I used to do that My exact words-

    "If you could please take the card I've left enclosed out of it's sleeve and sign it for me I'd greatly appreciate it."

    Athletes these days.....

    I see sending the sleeve and toploader as a waste of your own time and the players time. To risky that they won't realize it and sign the sleeve and not the card. I just tuck my cards and an index(for protection, well not really much protection) inside the flap of my SASE and then all that goes inside my folded letter. No need for the toploader, might even end up getting you charged more because of thickness, or getting jammed in the machine if it does go thru without more postage.
