When I fold my letter, I put my cards inside so they don't slide around that much, and put the smaller envelope inside(behind the cards). Never had one damaged. No sleeves, top loaders, etc.

Its really to each his own. Some like just putting them in between letters and it does cut down on postage.I personally like to use pennysleeve/toploader.Its cost 1.95 plus D.C to get there and then 1.95 back.Total cost is 4.75.I also send 2 cards to be signed.2.40 for a signature is pretty good if you ask me.~~Dave C.

The few times I've sent toploaders I've never had them returned with the toploader.

But if it's a card you love and you at least want to give it extra protection going to the site then put it in a toploader.

If you want to chance a signed toploader, then sure. Like I just posted in another thread, returns very rarely get damaged. Don't make it anymore difficult on the signers.

How does it cost $4.75 to mail 2 cards in a toploader? I've never put more than 1 stamp on mine and never had anything returned for insufficient postage.

I've always used the ultra type toploaders which are a little bigger and flimsier making it easier for the player to get the cards in and out. If they fit I always use penny sleeves as well and have never had a player sign one. Very rarely has a player returned only the cards without the toploader. Ron Cey dumped both cards and the penny sleave and the toploader into my return all separately and there was some damage to the 2 cards, but thats the only example of damage I can think of.

Toploaders and sleeves is a complete waste of time. I just send my cards and an index card tucked into my SASE flap and then put that inside the folder letter, then into the #10 envelope to mail. No need for the other stuff. To risky that you get stuff not signed right.
