Rinne with less than 30 pucks a game= 0-2
more than 30 pucks a game= 4-0
I truly believe that Phoenix lucked out and got a great matchup. Phoenix is gritty, hungry, has great defense, forechecks, and has great goaltending, everything that Detroit lacked.

Is Phoenix trying to set a r1ecord for the number of overtime playoff games in a season?
Shot totals only tell you about possible scoring opportunities and the number of shots that defenders did not block (which should be higher in the playoffs). It only takes some blown coverage or not defending the slot and crease area sufficiently to cause a lot of scoring opportunities to arise.
I'll have to say that Dave Tippett is doing a good job of getting his team to play his system.

Yandle had a great game. He riverboat gambled on a few occasions, but he is such a great skater that he was able to get back into play.
Coyotes should pay more attention to the fore-check pressure that they were able to achieve, as it really did fluster the Nashville defense. Phoenix cannot allow the puck to spend that much time in their own end. That's Russian Roulette.
Smith is only human.

no surprise, the team is winning. That's what happens with just about all professional sports teams. Seems some people forget that just a little more than a few years ago Phoenix was averaging attendance better than Chicago, Boston, Washington, New Jersey, etc.

Same place all the fans in Wpg came from in 1986. Leading 3 games to 1 over Edmonton, Petr Klima marches down the wing in OT and breaks their Bandwagon hearts to reverse the series and send the Jets to the curb and the winning only Wpg fan back to his rabbit warren.
They were selling standing room tickets along the top of Wpg stadium 4 deep.
Lol.

We are 10 Phoenix Coyotes wins away from seeing Gary Bettman present himself with the Stanley Cup.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

If Phoenix makes it all the way to the finals, I can see some unflattering headlines due to the fact it's known that the NHL is still paying Glendale at least 25 million to keep that team running at the Jobbing.com Arena. This might bring up questions at the Board of Governors meeting about revenue-sharing in the near future... not to mention making Bettman Public Enemy #1 to hockey fans in about at least seven teams for sure... if not already...
Also, with the CBA coming up in September, I just really hope another lockout or strike does not occur. However, if it does happen, the sunbelt teams will feel the dwindling gate attendance first. This was the case for the Blue Jays after the MLB strike in early-mid 90's.

He had to give it to Doan, then slink away.
