Tavares Rookie The Cup Gold cont'd
Several months ago this appeared on ebay, of course we all knew it was fake, expecting a silly patch over a white card. See image below.
Now look what pops up on ebay, same numbered card but now a blue patch. Now looked back on all my /91 images (which I have around 70 of them) and not ONE of them is solid blue. So someone replaces what was an obvious fake patch with a not so obvious ?

Exact same card with same little nick of the gold in the "6" if you look at the zoom.

It almost looks like a jersey piece and not a patch that was put in there, I could be wrong though...

The original seller probably got seriously called out on it being fake and decided to fake it again to make it seem not fake and then moved the card

thats not even a patch!! look at the small holes its a jersey piece. This card needs to be destroyed

messaged the seller, my bet hes selling on consignment as last time this card was up with the patch in the OP it was being sold on consignment as well by Beckett

Hi all.
I don't mind admitting, i am all new to the fact that there are fake swatch/auto cards out there, is there any hard or fast way to tell if a card is fake?

And it's still listed up to $200 now, expecting it to sell around 400-500 for a fake in this case now jersey it looks like.
Re: Meganmaster, no real hard fast way to tell but something which looks way out of the ordinary of the other cards from the same player is likely fake. The original attempt of a fake was soooo different then any of the other 90 options, it was an easy tell. Sad part is even the blue is so different to any of the other cards. All the single color patches are white, and if it does have blue there is a stripe of white in the middle of the card, and its a heavy solid blue, not a mesh blue like the jersey part.

Nor sure if it's fake or original patch under the fake one but in all case, this card is not worth much due to the damage done to it. This damage is enought to make this card worthless almost.
