    Redemption expiration

I was wondering where I can find out how many redemption cards there are in old hockey card boxes? Like for example artifacts 2008/09 and trilogy 08/09. Also what are the expiration dates on redemption cards like sp authentic 09/10, have redemption cards expired? And does any one know if UD will do anything with an expired redemption card, like exchange for another card?

    Welcome to SCF!

There are numerous redemptions in Artifacts each year due to the rookie checklist. Those will have all expired by now. Trilogy would likely have expired as well - usually redemption cards have a 2-year window and that would have expired by now.

2009-10 SP Authentic you might still have a very limited window left. I'm sure there's a couple folks on the site here that pulled some over the course of their breaks.

When it comes to an expired redemption and getting a replacement....it's 50/50, though lately UD seems to be leaning more towards no. There was a fellow who posted on their Facebook page the other day that he pulled a great card from his SP Authentic break that was a redemption, and this was the response:

Upper Deck Nate here is some information as to why redemptions expire, and we have shared repeatedly here and through other social media channels that we cannot honor these cards, we apologize: http://upperdeckblog.com/2011/02/ask...n-vishnevskiy/

It's getting to the point of "We're sorry, but there's not much we can do."

    redemption

Thank you for the very quick response. I have just one other quick question would 2010/11 sets still have valid redemptions?

Most redemptions last 2 years. the 10-11 products may be coming to an expiration soon. Hope that helps

Yes, redemptions from products from 2010-11 are still active.

You can always try. I've gotten trilogy stuff from 08/09 redeemed back in december.

As much as I'd want to break older stuff due to the chance of redemptions being in there I'd be scared to. It is cheaper for older stuff. I wonder if they price it down based on the fact the redemptions are no longer any good?

The 09/10 SPA redemptions expire in early may I believe.
