Do you think titanium will be able to compete in the mid-range level with UD stuff?

I think Contenders definitely will compete with SP Authentic.

Contenders will definitely compete with SPA this year, very awesome set. Also, Titanium seems to be pretty nice, a mem/auto pack a box, and if you hit that Nuge or Landeskog, or even Hodgson (will be very limited, either /9 or /19 for CoHo) you will be laughing.

I would be very reluctant to say that until we see what an average contenders break looks like. Panini sell sheets always look nice but a good majority of the time the actual product is flat.

What do you mean by flat? There hasn't been one this year that is flat. All of them are pretty awesome this year. They've all delivered at or beyond expectations.

I disagree. Certified and limited stayed on par, the lack of numbering and LIVE RC's of Nuge and Landeskog really hurt Crown this year, Elite looks to be last years Zenith (the brand dud) and its astronimical odds to hit a good RC in Titanium. Contenders looks to be improved, Rookie anthology we'll have to see about (UD Rookie Update was a flop...). Panini just doesnt have that "go to" product and UD has at elast 2 with UD 1 and SPA.

A lack of numbering actually helped crown. Also LIVE RCs arent Crown's fault and they added veteran silhouettes. The product was better this year thanast year IMO. Yes it will be hard to hit an RC in titanium, but that will only drive the value of them skyward.

+1. I remember last year I really wanted (insert Panini product here). When the product was released I went ahead and bought boxes only to be disappointed *cough cough luxury suite*.

Its a little bit better this year but not by much.

I remember contemplating buying a box of Luxury Suite based off the sell sheet for $180 at release. I decided against it. Boy, that was a close one.

In terms of a "go to" box for panini, I think Prime could really be such thing.

I really think contenders could be huge, it's just that a lot of semi-card fans (not die hard like us,) think its going to be the old contenders. This year will be much better.

I don't consider a $200/pack product a "go to" because it wont be affordable to everyone, so it wont be heavily collected and traded.
