Panini Redemption Replacement Issue
I decided to finally ask for a redemption replacement on a 10-11 limited saku koivu vintage pucks auto /10 after waiting for over a yr for it.
what i got in return was a 11-12 limited silver spotlight jonathan blum phenoms auto /49.
am i wrong in thinking that this is not close to being comparable? those vintage puck autos are fairly rare and the ones i've seen have gone from $50-$150 depending on the player and when it was sold. the blum rc can generally be had for <$10 at auction with current BIN at $15.
what i was expecting to get was a similarly numbered auto card /10 of a solid semistar/unlisted star (not necessarily superstar or hof player).
has anybody had any success in fixing their redemption replacement issues? or is this just what i have to accept for dealing with replacements in the 1st place? this is so frustrating...
Positive update!! I returned the card after complaining and they said they would take it back. i didn't request a replacement again and lo and behold, i received something in the mail from panini today. good job panini for fixing this.

Ive never dealt with the Panini redemption process. I either sell my redemptions right when I get them, or wait for a card to become live if I want it.
But you did get screwed

Haven't had any experience with redemption replacememts, but I will probably be requesting one soon for my Jean Ratelle Luxury Suite auto. Having heard what you received, I am now a little reluctant to request a replacement. You definitely did not receive a fair market value replacement. I would contact them about this and explain your disapproval of their replacement choice.

GET ON THE PHONE NEXT TIME!!!
If you request your replacement over the phone, you can get them to tell you what they have a available and decide on something with them.

Yikes. They really hosed you over with that one. Saku's hobby love has dipped a bit since he left Montreal but there's still a lot of dedicated collectors that would have given you way more than a Jon Blum Limited RC for that card.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

From a person (me) who has hated on Panini in the past:
Just call them... the new staff handling Redemptions/Replacements are FANTASTIC. I received 3 cards in the mail yesterday, one was a 11-12 Limited RNH Freshman Jumbo Signatures - but SHOULD have been an 11-12 Limited RNH Freshman Jumbo Draft Positions Signatures. I called, got a live person within 15 seconds, and they apologized and gave me information to send it back and they'll send the correct one + packs for my trouble.
If anyone from Panini reads this, her name was Mindy and this is the second time I've talked to her. Both times have been excellent and she is the LONE REASON I didn't give up on your product.

How do you get any form of compensaton (extra packs etc that people always say they get) from them?
I mean aside from taking thier family pet hostage, I can never get them to do anything for me and this is after 15 onths of waiting

Seems you got ripped, you should have gotten something extra for the wait alone.. but the replacement does not sound like its anywhere equal.
