When it's NOT a Rookie Card, and Gets Called a Rookie Card, and Some People Bite!!!

All I can say is. This guy is getting a whole bunch for a second year base card worth $.30:
JAROMIR JAGR 1990-91 OPC Rookie RC #40 Penguins Flyers ...

Now an actual Rookie card, and take note. It has the same pic on the front:

1990-91 OPC (O-PEE-CHEE) PREMIER NHL HOCKEY: #59 JAROMI...

I have doubles of the 91-92 OPC as it should be called. Maybe I should sell them.... Hmmm
Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

The funny thing is the real rookie has less bids and is currently selling for less money.

I know this is very frustrating, but it is not always people trying to scam for a quick buck. Sometimes, non-collectors especially, come across cards and take them at face value. If it says RC, rookie, prospect, or rookie card on it, they assume that to be true. Usually the people who fall for this are not collectors either. Collectors would know the difference.

I remember my mother, for Christmas, bought me a 92-93 Pro Set card of Eric Lindros. She bought it at a card show and the seller told her it was his rookie cardand would be worth lots of money. Of course, this card isn't work the paper it's printed on, but she was so proud of herself because she bought it herself, got the right player, and it was a rookie card! I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.

Man his is just wrong. It is even worse when Card companies print Rookie on the front when its a second year card. Just gives fuel to these scammers on E-bay

For Christmas a few years ago, my wife bought me a SP Game Used gold parallel jersey from 06-07 or something of Markus Naslund. Your standard parallel #/100 that I could get for 2-3 bucks. She bought it from a sports clothes store that had a little section where a guy sold some of his cards or whatever. Anyways, she paid $40 for the card. I could never break it to her directly but I did say she should just give me cash for that sort of endeavor in the future.
