im a rookie collector and i had a quick spa rc that i got few month ago when it was booking at 20$.. i grab the buzz and sold it for 70$. i have priorities and 70$ for a non auto goalie card is nice. im sure it will drop next year after the buzz.. hes hot now but im sure he will have a down sequence in the near future...

Agree 100%. I had 5 nice cards from his rookie year (1 of each RC, plus a BAP /10 and a Cup Plate).
I will likely try and aquire another FW in a year's time, when the prices have bottomed out agian.

Yeah I think this is absolutely stupid and I refuse to buy one. He doesn't have an autograph RC but there are bigger superstars with rarer and more desirable auto RCs than this for half the price.
oh lets not forget there are /999 and /499 out there. hardly scarce, that's practically a common by today's standards.Last edited by any$4forsberg; 05-20-2012 at 04:24 PM.

Great goalie, extremely overpriced cards. Besides this great year he is having, his hobby potential won't go any higher. I am really laughing at those who jumps on this bandwagon with where the prices are right now.
Just plain dumb. Sellers market!

people laugh when I offer $20 for a base sticker autograph from a non-important year/ set. Apparently all his autographs are worth $30 minimum. :eyeroll: good luck getting $10 by next september.

i remember buying the 2 quick rookies that i still have, the ultimate collection and the sp authentic limited /100, for between $10-15 each, both from the same seller, and I lost the only one from that same seller, the regular sp authentic /999 which sold for in the same range which i thought was too high. Wish i had bought it then but i'm glad i got the other 2 for as cheap as i did! They'll come down in price unless they win the cup but I'd rather have his rookies than a toews or kane because there are only a handful of them and there are dozens of the other players.

Not sure about pricing on the autos..... but if they are selling for $30 on eBay, why would anyone take $20 ??
You're 100% right. These will likely be $10 cards by the fall - but if someone is selling while the iron is hot, so to speak, can't really blame them for holding out for what they think the going rate is.
I know I did on a BAP RC /99 (and I probably sold too low).
Had someone on eBay message me: "Why such a high price? This is a $60 card".
Now, it may list for $60 in Beckett (I don't know). I told him that at the begining of the season it may have sold for $60.... a price I would have had no interest in selling mine for, and that I would get MUCH more than that.
