I had the same thing happen to me with packages being delayed or misrouted. Don't even think about calling 1-800-ASK-USPS because their customer service is a complete joke.

I know from friends and family members who work for USPS how easy it is for small bubble mailers to be misplaced in the wrong hamper. They sometimes use the same hamper for sorting packages for transporting trash to the dumpster later in the day, just think what happens if a bubble mailer (that is the same color as most hampers) gets in a groove of the hamper, it ends up in the trash.

UPS is no better. Their local sorting facility/loading dock is 6 miles from me but for some reason they can only occasionally find my house. I have to go pick up at least half of the items that are shipped to me because of it.

FedEx has been 5 stars for me tho. Anytime they have a package for me and the driver is unsure of where I am they call and ask for directions and deliver it the next day.

Was it them or UPS that likes to throw TV and other items over fences?

It was FedEx that threw the TV over the fence.

I think they are all "decent" considerning the high volume of stuff they have to move around every day. Of course, you are always going to have the guy that is only there becauase of the money and does not care about the packages and all.

I've had a couple problems with them recently. I sent an item I sold on here by Media Mail. I live in MA and it was going to ME. So I look up the tracking info. It ends up in NJ at some sort facility. I would have thought there is a major sort facility in Providence(closest major city to me, or even Boston. Nope it had to go to NJ to get to Maine.
Maybe they closed down a facility closer or maybe media mail goes to a certain place cause they can check it to be sure it is what is supposed to be in one of those packages.
But it got to its destination fine. Just baffled me how it had to go to NJ to get to Maine!

Then another thing, we have a common mail slot for the building(6 apartments) So didn't hear the mail go thru, go out and see a slip for a package. Nobody rang the bell at all. And our doorbell does work. So this was like before noon I think. so I had to wait til 4:30 to go to the post office to get my package. I was home at the time to so I could have received it. But nope, I have to wait til the truck goes back and it's there. Upon asking about it the employee really had nothing to say.

Another instance the mail came and we were headed out. Grabbed our letters and such. Walk out the door, sitting on the front step is 2 packages for us. Seriously, you don't ring the bell. What if someone had stolen it? Then there would be a problem.
And the real kicker is, were having another family members packages delivered to us, cause were home often and there building the landlord won't let the door stay unlocked due to insurance issues, so they'd have to leave stuff on the step there. They actually work from home doing phone reservations so they can't get up anyways, plus no doorbell.

Seems USPS needs to get its act together or something, not impressing me this week at all.

All of the major couriers (UPS, FED EX, USPS) have issues with them. I remember my wife had a package coming to the house from fed ex, we live in a gated community but that day the gate was broke so the driver should have drove on in. However he lied and said that the gate was locked and that he couldn't deliver it. Come on now if you are too lazy to do your job then quit.

Ha nice. What is the policy when the gate is working? Do they have to be buzzed in or something?
